Motivational Press is looking for submissions for our newest book. We will be compiling the top things teens have to know when entering high school. These are things that you wished your high school guidance counselor would have told you when you were entering high school.

for example, I will be writing about the importance and positive to taking classes at a community college in high school, as the credits apply to both high school and college, and the grade you receive in the class is weighted just like AP classes.

I am looking for a professional therapist (PhD, MA, PsyD., etc.) who would like to write a foreword on a book that is being written and published about overcoming a career as a "stripper."

I am looking for success stories from women and men who have overcome a career as a stripper/adult entertainer.
I was a stripper in Arizona 11 years ago and I decided to get out of the business for several reasons. I am a published author, entrepreneur, and a motivational speaker now.
Your story needs to include:
1) How/why you got into it
2) How it affected you
3) How/why you got out of it
4) What you learned from it
5) What you are doing now with your life.
It should be 1500-3000 words.
If your story makes it to our editor, you will be notified and compensated $50. You will also receive a copy of the book.

Seeking Finnish-speakers (Sioux Falls/Spearfish/Crawford, NE)

SEEKING FINNISH INTERPRETERS OR ANYONE WANTING TO PRACTICE THEIR FINNISH SKILLS!

We have family visiting from Finland from June 6 until June 18, 2008. We've met them all, and they're wonderful people! But of the 6 of them, only 2 speak any English, and only one of those two is fluent enough to hold a real conversation in English. And of course, our family doesn't speak Finn, even though that is our heritage!

So we're looking for any Finnish-speakers who might be willing to spend some time with us and practice your translating or improve your Finnish. You don't even have to be that fluent! Anything helps.

You're welcome to spend as little as an afternoon with us, or as much as a week! Ideally we'd like to pay you with room and board and good company, but some amount of compensation can certainly be discussed, depending on your availability and fluency. It's important to us that our guests feel welcome, and you can be vital to that goal! We'll do our best to arrange something that we can both feel happy about.

Tentative schedule and locations:
June 6-9: We'll be near Larchwood, Iowa (20 minutes from Sioux Falls).
(at Aunt Reba's Bed and Breakfast)
June 10-11: We'll be driving to western SD, and spending a day or two with family near Spearfish, one of whom spoke Finnish as a child, but hasn't used it for decades.
June 12-13: We'll be driving around some of the historical sites in that area, like Mt. Rushmore, Crazyhorse, etc.
June 13: In the evening we'll end up at Ft. Robinson near Crawford, NE, where there's a large family reunion made up of descendants of our great grandmother and grandfather who came over from Finland to western SD.
June 14-15: At the family reunion in Ft. Robinson, Crawford, NE.
June 16: Driving back to the Larchwood, Iowa (near Sioux Falls).
June 17: Back at Aunt Reba's Bed and Breakfast in Larchwood, Iowa.
June 18: Our Finnish family leaves once again for Helsinki and eventually to their homes near the Arctic Circle in Kemi and Tervola.

Again, your skills are welcome for as much or as little of this visit as you're able to do! So if you live out west and want to jump in on a day or two of sightseeing, please do so! If you live near Sioux Falls and want to help us welcome the Finns at the airport, Go for it!

Startup publishing company would like your stories of growing up in small towns in the Midwest, for a soft-cover book that will be available on Amazon.com, etc. If you have a funny, dramatic or heartwarming story to tell, we'd like to see it.

The "Chicken Soup for the Soul" series is a good example of what we're looking for.

Approximately 500 - 2000 words. One-time compensation is small ($10), but if your story is chosen you will have a brief author bio at the end of your story, you'll receive one free book and will have a published credit for your writing resume.
